Today we finally got to the National Road Transport Museum in Alice. I am not one for museums or transport but it was very interesting. Kenworth have their own pavilion which was very impressive and in fact send up a maintenance person to maintain and clean the vehicles. Who doesn’t love a big shiny truck? You can also see inside the cabin to see how they live and sleep on the road.
A highlight was old Bertha, the first road train, she is still in good shape. And of course the old Ghan trains and memorabilia.
Don’t miss the 2026 Festival of Transport, a 4 day event starting on the 27th of August. Be there to see the new inductees to the Wall of Fame!
